This group of volunteers supports the Town's sustainability goals by helping event attendees properly utilize zero-waste stations at some of our largest events of the year, including the Summer Concert Series, July 4th, and Chili & Beer Fest. Members of this group are dependable, reliable, and hardworking. Due to the impact of this role, we hold Green Team volunteers to a higher standard and ask them to take on additional responsibilities.
Steps for applying to join our Green Team:

2) Watch the training video and review the sustainability 1 pager.
3) Complete a couple brief knowledge check questions.
4) Attend a whole group Green Team training session.
5) Arrive 10 minutes early to events you sign up for to receive a recap of the event-specific duties.

RELEASE AND WAIVER
In consideration for participating in a Town volunteer project, I represent, acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. I am a volunteer in a Town volunteer project (the "Project"). I acknowledge and agree that in return for my services, I may be granted certain privileges by the Town (e.g. use of certain Town equipment), but thatsuch privileges do not constitute compensation.
2. I am not an employee of the Town, and this waiver or any other written materials provided to me by the Town or in my communication with any Town employee or official is not intended to create an employment contract between the Town and me.
3. Either the Town or I may terminate my volunteer status at will at any time with or without cause or notice.
4. I am physically capable, able and willing to perform the tasks I am expected to complete as a volunteer.
5. I have the requisite training to safely and effectively accomplish the tasks I am expected to complete as a volunteer.
6. I am familiar with all Town safety rules, both specific to the Project and generally, and shall abide by them while carrying out my duties and responsibilities during the Project.
7. As a volunteer, I am responsible for myself, including without limitation for allmy ownmedical bills and expensesfor any injuriesresulting from my service as a volunteer. I understand that there is no workers’ compensation coverage afforded to me by the Town.
8. I understand that there may be significant inherent risks of injury, even death, from the activities in this volunteer program and that following all rules, directives, guidelines and safety procedures may reduce, but will not eliminate, this risk or other and all risks. I further acknowledge that, in addition to the risks arising from the conduct of others, there are risks from adverse weather conditions, animals, insects and other outside forces, both natural and artificial. As a volunteer, I assume responsibility for my participation and knowingly and freely assume all risks from the activities of the Town’s volunteer program.
9. It is my responsibility to report any unusual hazards or dangerous conditions that I observe during my participation.
10. I understand that the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act, C.R.S. § 24-10-101, et seq., may, under certain circumstances, provide me with liability coverage as a volunteer for the Town. In the event the Colorado Governmental Immunity Act does not provide me with liability coverage as a Town volunteer, I hereby release and agree to hold harmless the Town, its officers, officials, agents and employees from any and all loss, costs, damage, injury, liability, claims, demands and causes of action whatsoever arising from my participation in the volunteer program.
LIABILITY RELEASE
I hereby release, indemnify and hold harmless the Town of Superior, Colorado, and its officers, insurers, volunteers, representative, agents, employees, heirs and assigns from and against all claims, liability, damages, losses, expenses and demands, including attorney fees, on account of injury, loss or damage, including without limitation claims arising from bodily injury, personal injury, sickness, disease, death, property loss, or damage or any other loss of any kind whatsoever, which arise out of or are in any manner connected with this project. This liability release applies to me as well as any of my children, personal representatives, assigns, heirs and next of kin.
MEDICAL RELEASE
In the event emergency medical aid or treatment is required for me due to illness or injury during the project, I authorize the Town to secure medical treatment and transportation on my behalf as needed, all at my expense.
